The Zotero developers have built a WordPress plugin that embeds a COinS tag in each blog post, making relevant metadata visible to Zotero (post title, author, date, blog title, categories, and URL). Unzip and upload the directory to your WordPress plugins folder. Then activate the plugin from within your WordPress admin panel.

Mike Giarlo and Peter Binkley have a WordPress unAPI plugin, which allows Zotero to see this metadata and further preserves the post summary in the abstract field:

COinS is often used to refer to some other content than the blog post itself (such as a journal article or book). Peter Binkley maintains another extension, which allows the ability to make COinS entries in the post editor which refer to other references:
